DC Solutions Infection Control Training - Appeals Procedure

Trainees’ work is assessed during the training. Feedback is given verbally and in writing, so that the trainee knows how she or he is doing during the course. In the vast majority of cases this works fine – but if any trainee is not satisfied with the final assessment, there is a full appeals procedure.

The student can be accompanied to any of the appeals stages.

Stage 1

The student and tutor meet to discuss evidence and the assessment. Usually, this results in agreement on the assessment, and the appeal is closed - but if it does not, then the appeal goes to Stage 2.

Stage 2

Evidence is assessed by an Internal Moderator. The Internal Moderator and the tutor meet to discuss and review the appeal. If they reach agreement, the appeal is closed.

If they do not agree, then the appeal goes to Stage 3.

Stage 3

The Internal Moderator and the OCN External Moderator meet to discuss the appeal. The External Moderator then reviews the appeal and reaches a decision based on all the evidence. The decision of the External Moderator is final.
